Fame

So, last night I saw the movie Fame with some friends. It was an amazing movie. I'm not much of a person whose into these musical type of movies, but I would say that this one is one of my top 5 favorite musical movies ever. For those of you who haven't seen it, you should. Its good. Yes, it can be mad cheesey at parts, but the movie as a whole makes up for it. Go see it. Its worth it. And the music is really good.

Guy on the T

So, I was waiting for the train at Park Street with my friend Shawn, when we saw our friend Chelsea who said she was taking the bus home, but obviously decided not to. She was on the other plat form (not the middle one) and we started talking to her from across the tracks. There was this group of guys with maybe one or two girls in there standing next to her who were kind of giving her looks, thinking she was talking to herself. They all looked over and saw me and my Shawn. One of the guys had his back to us, but turned around. Once he saw me, he couldn't stop joking around and pretended that he had a chest and was opening his hoodie, as if he was flashing me. It was a pretty funny experience. He did this a couple of times, and maybe 3 times he did the little hand gesture you do when you're pretending to play with a girl's chest. I laughed and the third time he did it, I shouted to him, "Maybe next time". He smiled and our train came. As our train was pulling in, the guy did one more "flashing" gesture and I smiled and waved to him and my friend Chelsea.

That was probably one of the most entertaining things I've experienced on public transit. And it definitely made my night a lot better than it was. And since it was about 10:45pm on a Saturday, he could have been perfectly drunk, but that didn't stop me from thinking that it was the most amazing thing. And that's my story for the night. Peace.

Zombieland

So, last night I went to go see an advanced screening of Zombieland down in Boston. It was such an awesome movie. It was funny and really good. If you're into Zombie movies, definitely go see it next weekend when it comes out. Its worth it. And it was also cool since Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg were there to do a Q&A session after the movie. This was probably the most fun I've had at a movie. There were Zombies everywhere in the audience, I went with a whole bunch of people I like, and I got to talk to a whole bunch of awesome new people while waiting in line for 2 hours and sitting in the theater. Was a fun night. Go see Zombieland, comes out October 2, 2009.

Heroes Season 1

Holy shit. So I just finished the first season of Heroes on Netflix...and oh my god, it was one of the most amazing seasons of a show I have ever watched. Its like, the best show I've watched so far. Well, one of them at least, but its up on my list as one of my top five TV shows ever! This season was amazing and intense. And I started watching the first episode of the second season, but, not that far in yet. I LOVE HEROES!

Back to the Art Center

So today was my first day back working at the art center. It was so tiring. But I'm glad I'm back there. Almost 2 years of working there, damn. This is the longest time I've ever kept a job. Amazing.

Digital Photo

So, I take photo in school. One major difference in photo this year compared to every other year in the past is that the photo class has gone digital since half my school is going under renovation and that half of the school has the dark rooms, and they didn't bother to build a new dark room. So far, its pretty fun. I enjoy it a lot. We have an amazing studio with awesome computers, printers and cameras. The first pictures the class took yesterday with the cameras were of flowers. Pretty corny but it was fun. And today we uploaded the pictures we took to our computers and we started playing around with the effects and such in photo shop. We had 2 kinds of pictures when we uploaded the pictures to the computer (2 of the same picture except each a different format). One was in .JPG which is your average format in which most pictures are saved. The other was a raw file. A raw file is in a way, just like a negative that you'd get out of a black and white camera. It shows you every little detail and such. The raw file is the file that we edit with the most. Its a really fun class, and I think getting the knowledge and feel of digital photography earlier in my photo career then later is great for me, since I want to go to college for photo. Anyway, this class is fun. I can't wait to see what the rest of the semester is going to look like.

P.S. the photo above is not something I did in class. Its a photo I took a while ago that I took on a trip to Canada and played around with it in a program called Picnik, which is a lot like Photoshop. Enjoy.

Ellen DeGeneres is an Idol

So, Ellen DeGeneres is taking the place of Paula Abdul as an American Idol judge. Now, as awesome as I think that is, there are a lot of mixed feelings about this from many people who have heard. And for those who haven't heard yet, well...surprise! Anyway, I personally don't know how to take this piece of news exactly. Part of me wants to be happy but another part is kind of like, "Ellen? Really?" I mean, I love Ellen, shes been one of my favorite people for a while. But I'm not sure how this is going to work. We'll just have to wait and see right? Well, I'm crossing my fingers, and hope that nothing goes wrong. Maybe she should just stick to her own talk show? *Shrugs*

Matrix #2 Fake-Out

So, I'm watching The Matrix Revolutions, which is the second movie in the Matrix trilogy, and I just finished watching that scene where Neo was fighting all those Agent Smith clones. And one thing I realized was that a good few parts of that whole fight scene was so obviously fake. For example, when Neo is twirling around that pole, kicking the circle of Agents, you can easily see that it looks like that bit is straight from a video game. This is true for a few more bits of this scene. Another thing that I found was that when more of the Agent Smith clones came in to join the fight, not all of them looked like the actual Agent Smith. Now, I know that they possibly had extras for the parts in which you see a wide shot of all the Smiths and you may not see much detail, but it seemed pretty easy to pick out if you were looking at everything in the shot. Now, as much as I enjoy this movie, I just had to point out some of these flaws. The Matrix is too good to make the fake stuff obviously fake. But, its still a good movie that I enjoy watching.

Death Year

So, seems like 2009 is the big year in which a lot of American icons/celebrities have died, such as Michael Jackson, Senator Edward Kennedy, and more. And the most recent of the deaths aside from Edward Kennedy's, was DJ AM's death, which was today. He was found dead in NY today, and his death might have possibly been caused by drug overdose, but the facts aren't set in stone yet. And as we know, DJ AM almost died a while back when in that plane crash with Travis Barker, in which they both escaped.

So, 2009 is a sad year in American history, since a lot of important people have passed away. May they all rest in peace.

Home

So I'm officially back home from being away for 4 weeks. And it feels nice to be home, but at the same time, not, since I miss MassArt right now, but I know I'll get over it soon. I still have to unpack a few things and such but I feel good about being home.

Yesterday, the first thing I did when I got home was eat brunch with my mom at a restaurant thats close to us. But thats when I realized that I forgot my dirty clothes in my dorm room so, my mom was nice enough to drive me all the way back to MassArt. So that was a good way to spend time with my mom. After that, I went and hung out with my friends downtown, and it was fun. It was a good way to spend my afternoon/evening. And today, I'm going to a friend's house for a cookout for his birthday with his family and another friend of our's. Its gonna be fun, since his family is chill and they cook really good food...yum.

Yesterday, before I got home, MassArt had a gallery of all the student's work who participated in the Summer Studios. I had a drawing up, my altered book on display, and some of my photography, as well as a screening of some of my films and my peer's films that were made in the film class and animation class. It went really well. This kid in my photo class even offered to buy one of my pieces. I didn't know what to do so I just told him maybe and never got back to him. Wish I did. But it made me feel good, although, it was hard to tell if he was actually joking or not. But either way, it was convincing and made me feel pretty awesome.

Anyway, I'm glad to be back...sort of. Kinda missed this place.

12:03 am

So its 12:03 in the morning. That means its Saturday morning, and in a couple of hours, I'm not going to be living here at MassArt anymore. Summer Studios is now done. Well...not completely since we still have a gallery to show and all that...but it definitely feels like it. These 4 weeks have been this really interesting experience for me, both educationally and socially. Living in the dorms have allowed me to meet new faces and become friends with them, and taking the classes has allowed me to grow in the areas of art that I need to improve on and on the areas in which I am more familiar...but there's growth in everything, right? Anyway, this experience has been pretty sweet for me, and I kind of don't want it to end at the moment. But I'll let it, because some good things come to an end. One thing I realized is that I enjoy this school a lot. And now, I want to go here a lot more than I wanted to before. So, time to get started on my app. MassArt: Roze is on her way. And thanks for a pretty awesome summer of '09.

So this is really it

I have like, one more real day here at Summer Studios. How depressing is THAT?! I've liked it here quite a bit. Fun classes, fun people...fun everything pretty much. I've enjoyed living on this side of the river quite a bit, and I don't feel like going back to Cambridge just yet. But I gotta. Anyway, its been mad fun. Enjoyed it a ton. But, its not quite over yet, so no need to get all sad just yet, right?

badum....

MassArt

So, right now, I'm at MassArt (Massachusetts College of Art and Design) and I am loving it. I am currently participating in their Summer Studios which is a 4 week program. I take different classes like 2D/3D Fundementals, Issues of Images, Photography and Film Making. They are really fun classes. I also am currently staying in the dorms here. So, pretty much I'm living here for the 4 weeks, which is also pretty fun. I find this a good experience for me since this is the school I really want to go to. The end of the first week is here though, and I have 3 more weeks here. I hope this doesn't fly by.

WBCN 104.1 FM is going away

WBCN is Boston's legendary rock radio station that has been around for like, ever. It was originally a classical radio station when it started out on the air, but then moved to being a rock radio station. Now, its going off the air, and becoming internet based, while the spot that its leaving on FM radio is going to be taken by a mix radio station, and in that mix radio station's place is going to be a sports radio station. Its depressing to me how this amazing radio station (WBCN) is going away, since its been my favorite radio station ever since I first started listening to it, which was a couple of years ago, and I'd always listen to it. Now, I have to find something else new to like. They were the first station to play U2 and Led Zeppelin, and at the same time, brought a lot of other well known rock bands that we know now to life. WBCN was a good role model for other stations as well. The official date in which WBCN will no longer be on air will be August 13, 2009. Thats soon, and in that time, I will be listening to WBCN non-stop. I'll miss this radio station.

Roger Federer wins 2009 Wimbledon

Roger Federer, now the #1 tennis player in the world, won Wimbledon against Andy Roddick. Even though I didn't watch the whole game (which lasted about 4 hours by the way), from what I saw, it was a very close and very well played game by both players. So congrats Federer for winning again and for now being the best...ever.

Kevin Jonas is engaged

So, as we all know, Kevin Jonas from the Jonas Brothers is engaged now to his girlfriend of 2 years, Danielle Deleasa. Even though I don't like the Jonas Brothers much, I still find it cool that Kevin is getting married, and decided to ask the big question at the age of 21. To me, that's pretty young to be engaged, but, I might be wrong. But anyway, its pretty awesome how he did it, and how he even gave her a custom made ring, which is even more awesome. So congrats Kevin Jonas for getting engaged! We're all proud...or at least most of us are.

The Happening

I just finished watching the movie The Happening with Mark Wahlberg. This movie has left me in a way a bit freaked out but at the same time amused. This movie wasn't that good, but it pulled me in to keep on watching it. The idea was good, just the actual movie could have been a lot better.

Crappy Weather

So, if any of you reading this who live in Boston may know, its been pretty crappy weather for the past week or so with maybe 1 or 2 really nice days in between. But the rest of the week and what it looks like for the rest of this week is that its either rainy or cloudy. And its sucks. Luckily though, later this week, and for the 4th of july weekend, its gonna be somewhat nice out. But I just HATE this weather so far. I need it to leave so I can enjoy the days without being wet.

Away We Go

I saw the movie Away We Go yesterday with a friend and it was amazing. Now, I'm usually not a big fan of those you know, alternative, "independent" like films...you know, the kind of style this movie is, I am usually not a fan. But this one was amazing. I suggest you all see it. Totally worth it.

Zachary Quinto & Chris Pine on First Aid

This is a video of Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine from Star Trek, talking about how to stay safe and how to help others who are in trouble physically, mainly Epilepsy which is what the main topic is about. This is one of many videos on how to help. Have fun and watch the video, and visit the site TalkAboutIt to learn more about Epilepsy. "The best thing is to be a friend. Talk about it."

Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett: Dead

As many of you already know, last night it was confirmed that Michael Jackson died at the age of 50. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of him, I still feel that we've has a pretty big loss by losing one of the most important musicians. And as many of you may also know is that Farrah Fawcett, the actress best known for her role in Charlie's Angels also dies yesterday of caner at age 62. Its a sad day whenever we lose someone, especially someone famous who has had somewhat of a big impact on the world and the people who paid attention to them. But its a bigger loss when we lose 2 in one day. Both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett will be rememberd.

Fact: Adam Lambert is gay, what now?

Ok, so, there is a lot of drama about Adam Lambert being gay and coming out, and yada, yada, yada. Big deal? People come out all the time. And it's not like he was hiding it, either. I honestly think that this whole Adam coming out thing shouldn't be a big suprise nor big deal. You could kind of tell he was gay before he came out to the public. And there have been pleanty of gay American Idol contestants. Adam is talented. And yes, ADAM IS GAY! Can we drop it now? I mean, speaking as a half gay person, no one needs all the drama when they first come out. Its hard enough for some people. I know I can't speak for this guys but really, just think. Accept it, be happy, and if you don't like it, is it really going to kill you to have one more "out" gay guy in the world? So, here's the fact: Adam Lambert is gay.

P.S. I am not trying to write this as an "angry" blog. I'm just pointing out that there's a whole lot of drama over something that doesn't necesserily concern a lot of the world, and over something that happens everyday. It's not a crime.

Crazy Business

So a while ago, back towards the beginning of my acting job, we had this film crew come in for a week to film our rehearsals for a documentary they were gonna put together about the acting troupe I'm in. So there was this one guy, I don't remember his name, but he was pretty good looking, and what seemed to be my type. I know, this may seem crazy and kind of predictable for a girl to say about a guy when she first meets him, but I donno. But once the week was over, maybe a couple days after, I wrote a little something about it. Here it goes:

Forget what I'm doing, forget what I'm told,
Sitting on stone steps,
Waiting for the rest of the day to unfold.
Killing himself slowly,
The smoke racing to his lungs.
I look past that,
And find his story yet untold.
Three days of noticing one another,
The rest of our lives living,
Its crazy how I fall for a guy while doing business.
His time is done here,
And another feeling of love has gone to waste,
How many people will I have to go through in order to get a real taste?

So that's the little something I wrote. I know I may sound like a winy girl, complaining about some crush, but, what can you do, right? What the hell?

Found in a Newsletter

So, yesterday I got an e-mail from one of my 2 jobs, and it was the newsletter. And I found myself, as well as a few of my other co-workers and boss in a couple of photos in the newsletter. To me, that was very exciting, since sometimes, when I have a job that sends out newsletters and they have pictures of their workers doing stuff, I don't usually find myself in any, or if I do, its only like, my foot. But it just got me really excited!

Sebastian's Voodoo

Earlier today, I was about to log into my youtube account when I stumbled upon a video called Sebastian's Voodoo. Its a short film that is part of the National Film Board of Canada. This short film is really amazing, and is very creative. Here it is, and I hope you enjoy it. And if you want to see more short films, visit the National Film Board's myspace page, where you can also find the site of the NFB for more information.

Untitled

There’s a reason for everything

And there’s a reason why I care for you.

Friends for what seems like forever

With a love that makes it even more special.

I’m here for you

Every second, every day.

And no matter how mad I get you

I never want you to slip away.

I’m concerned sometimes, yes

And I don’t want to make things more of a mess.

Just know I’m here for you

Every second, every day

When you’re ready to spill your heart out

I’m just here

Waiting

No matter what else I’m doing

Waiting, waiting, waiting for you.

Mad World (Cover) by Adam Lambert

Now, this season, I have not been keeping up with American Idol. But the other day I saw an article about how this 39 year old lady was "in love" with one of the contestants, Adam Lambert, whom most of you reading this might know who this is if you keep up with the show, or hear a lot about it. But anyway, ever since reading that, I figured I might as well see if I could find any videos of him singing something on youtube, just to see if his voice is good, and not only get into this guy because of his looks, and I ended up finding this slideshow video thing of pictures of him, but him singing the song Mad World, originally done by Gary Jules. And this is probably one of the most amazing covers I have heard. He has an awesome voice and he sings this song wonderfully. Heres the video, hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Star Trek: Artist on Artist

So, last night, I saw the Star Trek movie with 2 of my friends. I was kind of scared to go see it, since it didn't really look that interesting or good to me. But then I saw it, and it turned out to be this pretty awesome movie. I enjoyed it a lot, and I'm not one of those big Star Trek fans either...in fact...I'm not a fan of it at all, but this movie was pretty good. So I suggest for those people who haven't seen it yet to go check it out, 'cause its better than you might expect. Trust me, I felt the same way before seeing it. And heres a video from the Artist on Artist (on myspace) staring the 2 main characters, Chris Pine who plays Kirk and Zachary Quinto who plays Spock.

True Colors: 1st High School Performance

So, I'm part of this theater troupe called True Colors, which is a out youth theater troupe run by the Theater Offensive. Today, we had our first show at a high school. Even though its technically our second time performing on tour, its still our first show at a high school, which was pretty exciting. I think we did pretty well, even though we had 2 of the troupe members not be there. But we did it!

First one

So this is pretty cool. I've always seen people use this site for blogging but I've never used it before, I've mainly used myspace for blogging, and I still do. But I guess now I'll use both! So I guess I'll just say welcome and I hope you enjoy reading my blog. I post pretty much anything, no matter if its just a random blog saying how bored I am that day, or if its about some interesting video I found on youtube or something. I do anything! haha, well, more will come. Enjoy!

Oh, and also, if you not only want to keep up with what I have to say on here, you can also visit me on myspace and view my blog there.
